Welcome to São Miguel! Your adventure begins at Ponta Delgada Airport (PDL), where our team will be waiting to welcome you and take you to the city. Before checking in, you’ll have some free time to explore Ponta Delgada, enjoy the local atmosphere, grab something to eat, or simply relax by the marina. While you discover the city, we’ll take your luggage directly to the accommodation so you can explore without carrying your bags. On the way to the villa, we’ll stop at a supermarket where you can buy groceries, snacks, and anything you’ll need during your stay. Today you’ll discover the volcanic heart of São Miguel. We’ll start the day relaxing in the island’s famous natural hot springs, surrounded by lush vegetation and warmed by volcanic activity. Next, we’ll head to Furnas to enjoy the traditional Cozido das Furnas, a unique dish slowly cooked underground using the natural geothermal heat of the volcano. Vegetarian and vegan options are available. After lunch, we’ll visit the impressive Furnas Fumaroles, where steam rises directly from the earth, before continuing to the historic Gorreana Tea Plantation, the only tea plantation in Europe. Here you’ll discover the tea-making process, walk through the beautiful plantations, and taste authentic Azorean tea. Today you’ll explore some of the most breathtaking landscapes in the Azores. We’ll start at a traditional pineapple plantation, where you’ll discover how one of São Miguel’s most iconic products is grown and taste local pineapple products. Next, we’ll visit Lagoa do Canário, the famous Boca do Inferno viewpoint, and the historic Monte Palace Hotel Ruins, offering spectacular views over the iconic Sete Cidades lakes. Around lunchtime, we’ll enjoy a picnic surrounded by nature. Each participant should bring their own picnic, prepared in advance using the groceries purchased during the supermarket stop on Day 1. In the afternoon, we’ll visit Ponta da Ferraria, where volcanic hot springs meet the Atlantic Ocean. We’ll end the day with a sunset BBQ. It’s time to say goodbye to the Azores! After checking out, we’ll head back to Ponta Delgada, where you’ll have some free time to explore the city, enjoy a coffee, do some last-minute shopping, or simply relax before your flight. If you’re looking for one final adventure, you can also join one of our optional activities, such as Whale & Dolphin Watching or Canyoning (available at an additional cost).
