Welcome to Morocco! Your Sahara Expedition starts here. You can arrive in Marrakech at any time on Day 1, giving you the flexibility to book the flights that best suit your schedule. Upon arrival at Marrakech Menara Airport (RAK), our team will welcome you and arrange your transfer to the hotel. After check-in, you’ll have free time to explore Marrakech at your own pace. Wander through the colourful souks, visit the famous Jemaa el-Fnaa Square, enjoy authentic Moroccan cuisine, or simply relax before the adventure begins. In the evening, many participants choose to have dinner together, it’s the perfect opportunity to meet your fellow travellers and trip leaders before departing for the Sahara the next morning. The real Sahara adventure begins! After breakfast at the hotel in Marrakech (included), we’ll leave the city and cross the breathtaking High Atlas Mountains via the famous Tizi n’Tichka Pass, the highest mountain road in Morocco, with several scenic stops along the way. We’ll then visit the iconic Aït Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Morocco’s most famous kasbahs, featured in productions such as Gladiator, Game of Thrones, and The Mummy. You’ll have free time to explore, take photos, and enjoy lunch at your own pace. In the afternoon, we’ll continue through the Valley of the Roses before arriving in the beautiful Dades Valley. After checking into the hotel, enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner (included) and relax before tomorrow’s unforgettable journey into the Sahara Desert. Today is the highlight of your Sahara Expedition! After breakfast at the hotel in the Dades Valley (included), we’ll continue towards Merzouga and the magnificent Erg Chebbi dunes, passing through traditional Berber villages and stunning desert landscapes along the way. Upon arrival, you’ll experience an unforgettable camel ride across the golden dunes as the sun sets over the Sahara. At our luxury desert glamping camp, you’ll check into your private tent before enjoying a traditional Moroccan dinner (included) under the stars. As night falls, gather around the campfire for live Berber music, connect with fellow travellers, and experience the magic of one of the world’s clearest night skies. For those seeking extra adventure, quad biking through the dunes is available before sunset (optional, extra cost). After breakfast at the hotel in Marrakech (included), you’ll check out and are free to depart at any time during Day 5, allowing you to book the flight that best suits your schedule. If your flight is later in the day, take the opportunity to enjoy a few final hours in Marrakech. Explore the Medina, shop for souvenirs, relax at a traditional café, or simply soak up the city’s vibrant atmosphere before heading to the airport. When it’s time to leave, our team will provide your airport transfer, ensuring a smooth and stress-free end to your Sahara Expedition.
